Dr. Neeta Mhatre, Founder of ReachOut

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as an Entrepreneur.

I am Dr. Neeta Mhatre, founder of ReachOut. As the name suggests, ReachOut is a safe and sacred space to come share your emotional, social, financial, or any challenging journey. Working on skill development of rape survivors, destitute and LGBTQ community. Non-judgemental space of expression and growth with empathy.

My journey started with myself when a counselor said to me during marital counseling, I don’t have time to listen to you, when your husband doesn’t want to stay it’s finished. The journey started with listening and day by day it improved. Thanks to that counselor or else I would not have reached this space.

How do you manage yourself and keep on going despite the challenges?

As an Entrepreneur, there are lots of challenges but doing mistakes, learning and growing is the motto with a NO GIVE UP attitude.

How did you come up with the name for your business/startup?

As the name suggests, ReachOut it is for the people &by the people.

What difficulties which you have faced or you are facing?

The challenges are allowing us to grow, as the sun rises every day and sets every day in the same way not planned about which or what client will approach every day its new path, new ways, new story, new outbreaks. But this is our strength and motivation of creating the awareness to stand for self and allowing the healing to happen.

What keeps you going?

There is far more to do far more to go, travel, create a difference, allow people to talk about marital rapes, about self-expression about sexuality. Need to break the taboo that these topics are not related to four walls, certainly, it has to be addressed and explained.

Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.

The accomplishment is not receiving awards or accolades. The award comes when a girl, lady or boy tells yes this is the place I am working and no memories are haunting, I am aware of my emotions, I am aware of my anger, then I feel I have achieved.

How many hours a day do you work on average & can you describe/outline your typical day?

My working hours are erratic, I do not fall in the category of Work Life balance.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

The strength is listening and also the weakness is listening, as ReachOut has not learnt to say NO.

What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring Entrepreneur?

I would advise Young Entrepreneur, to work with honesty and integrity, wait, everything has time don’t jump or don’t leave, allow the seed to nourish, you will have your plant (That is your dream and Passion) & also it’s okay to take risks, few calculated risks are fine. Involve and Co-Create with like-minded people. Together is always with strength.
